Thank you card box gift set

Thank You Card Gift Box
mini tutorial:

Finished product can be opened as an easel to display items.

Supplies: One 12 x12" black cardstock
Two 8 1/2 x 11" coordinating cardstcok (I used green)
Pattern paper of choice.  I used Anna Griffin's 6x6 Juliet paper pad
Embellish as desired.  I used all my scraps and added dimensional flower stickers from Anna Griffin.  This particular size will hold Anna's Fantastic Flip cards.

.

Use one piece of 12x12 cardstock cut down to: 6 3/4" x 12" for the base.
Score base length-ways/horizontally at 5",6" and 11 1/2"

Use remaining scrap to make the box as an attachment.  Cut down to 10" x 5 1/4"
 Score attachment length-ways/horizontally at 1/2", 1 1/2", 8 1/2" & 9 1/2"
Next, rotate and score vertically at 1"

Burnish all score marks.  *Tip: make folds with score mark on the inside.
Trim out bottom corners, and cut on 1 1/2" & 8 1/2" score marks as shown in the picture above to make small flaps.  You will want to miter your corners on the flaps.  Add adhesive to the 1/2' sides and the 2 small tabs.  As well as the small 1/2" end of the base, that will join the bottom pieces together.

Pen holder: Use last scrap piece cut down to 1 1/4" x 1 7/8"
Score length-ways horizontally at 1/4", 3/4", 1 1/8" and 1 5/8"
Burnish score marks.  Add adhesive to end score marks.  Place according to pen size on the inside spine of the flap/box.

DIY Tutorial: Magnetic Cutting Mat for manual Die Cutting Machines: Cuttlebug & Sizzix

DIY Magnetic Mat & Tutorial

Here is a link to my Youtube channel for this DIY Magnetic Mat Tutorial for die cutting machines.

                                                            DIY Magnetic Mat Tutorial

Here are some photo's I took of the mats I made.  This one is 5x12 and cost was about $5 after coupon to Joanns.  That includes the magnet sheet and Little B guide.

This photo includes both versions I made.  The smaller one is using the Magnetic Spacer Plate from Spellbinders.  I did not adhere this, I use the white chipboard as a shim.

Reverse side.  This one was about $10 after a coupon to Joanns.

Happy Anniversary card

Happy Anniversary!
This easel card turned out so beautiful using Anna Griffin products.  I used the Garden Party Paper Pad to coordinate all the layers.  There is a rosette and a tail by using the the fancy folder from the Paper Tricks embossing folders.  I added the Sentiment from her sticker collection and I used pop dots to to the butterfly by using two pieces to give it dimension.  For inside the card, I used another stickers that I ran thru my Cuttlebug using the Carmen Lace edge folder and die.  Again using pop dots on the border to give the easel a landing spot.  I also inked my edges to give it a bit of a distress/antique look.

MIA...no more! Disney hats with scarves, autograph books and keepsakes.

It has been awhile since I have posted to my blog.  I have been busy creating and crafting to say the least.  I will be adding some more recent projects I have created.  A lot of my pieces I post to my Etsy store.  These are new fun items you can take on your next Disney trip.

Fun new autograph books Star Wars inpsired:

Lastly, upcycled Golden story books to use as autograph books/keepsakes, filled with questions and games to keep kids busy.

Graduation card and embossing folder

Graduation Card and Embossing Folder

I used the Graduation 2013 file to create this classic card.

Border used for embossing.

This became a two part project.  I recently started using chipboard to make my own embossing folders.

You can check out my previous post on my blog for directions to make your own embossing folder.  But by creating a folder with chipboard, then taking the negative piece and adhearing it to the bottom piece to line up with the top and voila your own custom embossing foler.  I ran mine through my Sizzix Big Shot.

Handmade Disney Embossing folders with Cricut Craft Room or Make The Cut

Handmade Embossing Folders

While playing with my Cricut today, I worked on making an embossing folder.  I was able to make a Disney Mickey Mouse and one using Damask Decor Cartridge

Images cut on chipboard

pieces left on mat

open

images glued to bottom piece

results: Mickey Heads

Image from Decor Damask

I used repurposed chipboard aka Ritz box.  I sized the images to fit a small folder of 4 1/2 x 5 3/4.   I used a Mickey Head from the gallery in Make the Cut with my Cricut Expression  (or you could use Mickey and Friends cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room) For the Mickey Head I sized it to 1" (you could probably go smaller) and made 4 rows x 5 columns.  I used 2 pieces of chipboard for a top and bottom and blue painters tape at the top to hinge it.

Once I had my images cut, and the folder assembled, I then took each image and glued it in place with the top and bottom together.
I also used the Decor Damask cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room with my Imagine.  I used my Sizzix Big Shot to emboss.  I used the platform with no tabs.  I did use a rubber mat and placed folder in between clear plates.  It came out perfect.  I can't wait to try more.  I will experiment with other materials to see what else works for a folder.

Scrap Factory Blog Hop

Scrap Factory Blog Hop
Welcome to my blog:  here I have 2 projects I made for Scrappy Dew Scrap Factory.  I love using this new program for all the possible doll creations.  The first project I used the base set:  Closed Toes, Boy hair style #1 and Boy outfit #3 for the "Bee".  I made this cute layout with the help of the "Bee Bears" from the ScrappyDew website.  I layered papers from DCWV "Shower Flower" and Debbie Mum.  I coordinated polka dot riboon and layered 2 different borders.    I chalked all of the paper piecings.  The clouds I ran thru my Sizzix Bigshot for texture.  You can find the new Scrap Factory program here: http://dash12.com/scrapfactory/

Boy Set 3

For the second project I used the Brick People Expansion set.  Here I made just the heads to use for a kids party "photo booth".  There are many options you could choose to make with the whole body, head/hair, face, outfits top/bottom.  I can't wait to make a scrapbook layout with brick theme paper.

Snowglobe: Snowman kits for sale

Upcylced Snowglobe
Here is a fun and easy winter project. I repurposed a "Prima" flower's jar by adding Recollections Tinsel Glitter and using the Scrappydew Snowman Kit 2012 pattern. Because this was a small jar I dit the project as a print and cut. I mirrored the pattern and printed 2 copies. One tip, do not mirror the sign as it will reverse the words. I scored a 1" wide piced of paper about 3" long at 1 1/4, 1 1/2 and 1 3/4. I folded in the middle and adhered the 2 folds together for the base. I slipped the folded piece in the middle of the 2 pieces. I added ribbon and voila an adorable snow globe!

If you wanted you could also look for Snowglobe kits, I found some on Ebay from $12-$25.

Just a note Easel Card Design Team Project

Just A Note
Easel Card

A print and cut easel card i created for Scrappy Dew.  I used a print cut to make this easel card.  I layered with autumn paper and stamped the sentiment "just a note"

Soaking up Memories Design Team Project

Soaking up Memories

I created this layout to list on Ebay.  I used ScrappyDew's Lil Firefighter set.  I made a border with a fire truck and ladder.  I embellished with ribbon on the mats and the border across the top.

I went back and added the lamp that burns in Walt's apartment.

Easel Card Design Team Project for ScrappyDew

Snow in Love
Easel Card

Here is a snow globe easel card I created for my design team project with the "Snow in Love" 2013 pattern. You can find the file here: http://shop.scrappydew.com/shop/item/96321
To create this I used Make The Cut basic shapes for the snow globe the base is a 4" trapezoid that I a wood grain embossing folder and ran thru my sizzix machine, with a 4' circle for the globe. I did a print and cut on (printable) transparency. I even sprayed the cut out with glimmer mist (hard to see in the photo) for a snowy effect. I layered the inside with winter paper and a "frosty" quote.
I folded the top for the easel at 1 1/2" from the bottom but should have been at the 2" mark since there is space at the top of y globe. My overall card is 5 x 5 1/2.

I Miss You A Latte ~ Easel Card

I've enjoyed making Easel cards recently and decided to make up a few with some Scrappydew files. This is the Latte Bears: http://www.scrappydew.com/store/holiday/valentine-easter.php
To make this card I used A6 card. I used the Martha Steward score board to make my folds and an envelope, but neither are required. The paper is from DCWV, Nana's Kitchen, coffee paper.
I used a 9" x 6 1/4" cardstock of coordinating paper, scored at 4 1/2" and folded the top in half for the Easel, but you could fold/score higher at 1" from the top to achieve a taller easel. I glued my SD Latte Bear on the bottom to the front of the card. I used Curlz font on my computer. I printed out the title and then lined up the heart and ran it back thru my printer for the title. I fussy cut some of the coffee cups out and used pop dots, layered on more coffee paper. On the inside I added a piece of plain cardstock, inked the edges and added my sentiment..
