Handmade Disney Embossing folders with Cricut Craft Room or Make The Cut

Handmade Embossing Folders

While playing with my Cricut today, I worked on making an embossing folder.  I was able to make a Disney Mickey Mouse and one using Damask Decor Cartridge

Images cut on chipboard

images glued to bottom piece

results: Mickey Heads

I used repurposed chipboard aka Ritz box.  I sized the images to fit a small folder of 4 1/2 x 5 3/4.   I used a Mickey Head from the gallery in Make the Cut with my Cricut Expression  (or you could use Mickey and Friends cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room) For the Mickey Head I sized it to 1" (you could probably go smaller) and made 4 rows x 5 columns.  I used 2 pieces of chipboard for a top and bottom and blue painters tape at the top to hinge it.

Once I had my images cut, and the folder assembled, I then took each image and glued it in place with the top and bottom together.
I also used the Decor Damask cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room with my Imagine.  I used my Sizzix Big Shot to emboss.  I used the platform with no tabs.  I did use a rubber mat and placed folder in between clear plates.  It came out perfect.  I can't wait to try more.  I will experiment with other materials to see what else works for a folder.
